Miso Glazed Salmon in the Air Fryer
This easy Miso Glazed Salmon in the air fryer comes together in minutes and cooks perfectly. I actually completely refuse to cook salmon anywhere that isn't in an air fryer. Sweet, savory, and full of umami, it’s ready in under 15 minutes and pairs beautifully with rice, noodles, salads, or even tucked into a bento box. High in protein, gluten-free (with tamari), and meal-prep friendly — this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights.

Try this miso salmon over my Salmon Soba Noodle Bowl for a light and nourishing dinner. It would also complement a mediterranean chickpea salad, or try pairing it with my Creamy Chickpea Salad for a light lunch, or serving it alongside a warm bowl of Roasted Garlic and Tomato Soup for a cozy dinner. It’s a versatile recipe you’ll want to keep in your weeknight rotation!

How to Make Miso Glazed Salmon in the Air Fryer
Step 1: Prep
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix miso, maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
Step 2: Prep Salmon
Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel. Place skin-side down in the air fryer basket.
Brush the miso glaze generously over the top of the fillets.
Step 3: Air fry
Air fry for 7–9 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon is cooked through and caramelized on top. I normally cook it until it's 145 internally at the thickest spot, but it's harder to overdo when it's in the air fryer, since the outside becomes crispy and locks in the moisture.
Step 4: Serve
Serve immediately or flake into pieces for bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions if desired.
Hint: If you have time, let the salmon sit with the glaze for 15–20 minutes before cooking for even deeper flavor.
⭐ Top Tips
Pull the salmon out of the air fryer when it reaches 130°F for a silky, restaurant-style texture — it will continue to cook as it rests.
