What I liked
I loved the health-boost structure, which makes it easy to choose recipes that align with specific wellness goals. The book’s mix of simple, familiar dishes and inventive new ideas offers something for everyone. The ingredient lists are accessible, and the photography adds an inspiring touch. I especially appreciated the discussions with a dietitian at the beginning, which provided helpful context for understanding how the recipes can support different health goals.
What I Didn’t Like
This is more of a personal thing, but there are a lot of recipes with meat replacement and there’s a lot of tempe as a replacement for meat. I am not a full-time vegan, but my mother-in-law is, so I am used to eating a variety of vegan foods. I would probably feel differently if I were a full-time vegan, but I really prefer vegan recipes that use vegetables and grains. There are certainly a good number of these, but I wish there more.
